Over the past 20 years, a significant part of the activities of the Green Szeklerland Association has been related, in one way or another, to environmental education. In 2010, the need arose to connect these many small educational initiatives into a unified program, as the results of individual projects tended to gradually fade and be forgotten over time.
This led to the creation of the Ant School (Hangyasuli) – a long-term development initiative that we have continuously built and expanded through numerous small and large-scale programs over the years. Today, it has grown into the largest environmental education program in the region.
What Does the Ant School Offer? Why Is It Needed?

Professional Programs
We are convinced that a great deal of valuable environmental education material remains hidden away in drawers, either because there is no suitable platform for sharing it or because its authors have not yet had the opportunity or motivation to make it publicly available.
However, if our goal is to create meaningful change, we first and foremost need access to information, ideas, and practical resources. When teachers and educators interested in environmental education can more easily access educational materials, they are better prepared to organize activities and lessons, allowing knowledge and awareness to reach a much larger number of children.
One of our greatest achievements is the creation of a freely accessible educational resource library containing more than 2,000 pages of downloadable materials. Available to everyone through the Hangyasuli website, this collection helps educators prepare a wide variety of environmental education activities and lessons, while also providing opportunities for anyone to explore environmental topics in greater depth.

Programs
Our primary mission is to provide engaging environmental education programs across Szeklerland. Over the years, more than 16,000 students have participated in our activities, gaining first-hand experiences and a deeper understanding of the natural heritage and environmental values of their region.

Events
We strive to take advantage of every opportunity to reach a wider audience with our programs. As a result, the Ant School (Hangyasuli) activity tent regularly appears at town and village festivals, school events, and various community celebrations.
During these events, visitors have the opportunity to try out our educational games, participate in hands-on activities, and take part in a variety of skill-based challenges and competitions. Through these interactive experiences, we aim to bring nature and environmental education closer to people of all ages.

Webpage
The growing number of Ant School (Hangyasuli) programs made it necessary to present the Association’s environmental education activities on a dedicated platform. Therefore, in February 2017, the thematic website Hangyasuli.ro was launched.
The website provides a central, well-organized source of information for anyone interested in the Ant School initiative. Visitors can easily access news, downloadable educational materials, program reports, online games, and a wide range of other resources related to environmental education and nature awareness.
