Starting from the new school year we would like to join our two main areas, the area of education and the area of curriculum development. With the support of the OTP Bank Romania the first year (grade) of the Ant Schoolproject was launched.
For us it is important to keep the continuous and organized educational activities. Therefore the program adjusts to the school year. During the vacations it will be possible to join different activities. Over the past few years the Ant School became the most significant environmental education program in the region.
The goal of the program is to provide professional support for educators who are interested in environmental education by developing study materials. It also organizes specific educational programs for students in the region. We know that we are on the right way. The numbers speak from themselves: we organized 653 programs with 14,985 children over the past 11 years. Currently there is available a free professional study material with a 1.412 pages for teachers to download. Until now this material was downloaded over 11,037 times from 447 locations.
The members of the Green Szeklerland Association are continuously working on a workbook, which can be downloaded from the website of the Ant School. The students which are interested can work on this workbook with the help of their teachers. The colleagues of the association will evaluate the answers and they will publish the correct answers monthly. With the help of the workbook, the children can improve their knowledge and they can learn various new topics. At the same time it is important to focus on practical activities and results.
It is important for us to keep a strong cooperation with educators and schools in the region who are interested in environmental education. We are also developing professional materials as needed. At the same time we are supporting the involved classes with various games and educational materials by organizing corresponding activities. According to this program we are waiting the applications to this program, especially from children and from classes located in Szeklerland. The application form can be downloaded from our website. You can send your application any time. The first round starts on the 2nd of October.
